Collette Harris serves as the System of Care Program Manager for NAMI Prince George’s County, where she leads the development and implementation of a strategic framework for peer-led education and support programs serving family caregivers of children with severe mental illness and serious emotional disturbances. Her leadership has strengthened community-based support systems, empowered families, and expanded access to essential mental health resources.
Mrs. Harris previously served as Executive Director of NAMI Prince George’s County from 2014 to 2019, providing strategic direction for a broad continuum of mental health programs for adults, adolescents, children, and families. Under her guidance, the organization expanded its capacity to deliver high quality, peer-driven services and deepened its impact across the county. She also served as President of NAMI Prince George’s County’s Board of Directors from 2012 to 2014, helping guide the organization’s growth and sustainability.
Her commitment to advancing behavioral health systems is also reflected in her past service on numerous advisory bodies, including the Prince George’s County Mental Health Advisory Board, Health Department Behavioral Health Advisory Group, Crisis Intervention Team Steering Committee, County Resources Advisory Committee, and currently on the Maryland Department of Health Consumer Advisory Committee for Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT).
Mrs. Harris is the mother and advocate of a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with mental health challenges. She holds a B.S. in Business Management and an M.S. in Technology Management from the University of Maryland.
