Dr. Warren Leggett Jr. has built an extensive career in psychology, addiction counseling, and criminal justice education, grounded in a solid educational foundation. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina A&T State University in 1980, Dr. Leggett furthered his expertise with a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of the District of Columbia in 2003. Culminating his educational journey, he earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from Capella University in 2010, with a dissertation focusing on the impact of reentry and sanction centers on recidivism. Throughout his career, Dr. Leggett has maintained several critical certifications. Since 2005, he has been a Master Addiction Counselor and has held the title of Advanced Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor III since 1991. As an educator, Dr. Leggett has served as an adjunct professor at various institutions, including Bowie State University since 2013, specializing in Alcohol and Drug Addiction and Criminal Justice. Beyond teaching, he is a trainer for the Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist program and involved in the Purple Boot Mentoring Program. Dr. Leggett has been an active member of professional societies, holding positions such as Vice President of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association and President of the DC Professional Consortium.
