Mark Sturdivant believes that growth is a continuous evolution.  A daily commitment to starting, restarting, and transforming one’s mindset. Guided by his purpose to “Empower People to Strengthen Communities,” he dedicates his life to inspiring others to unlock their potential, strengthen their mental wellness, and pursue their purpose with confidence.

A proud Washington, D.C. native, Mr. Sturdivant began his journey at Springbrook High School before earning a full athletic scholarship to the University of Maryland, College Park. As a standout student-athlete, he served as Co-Captain of the Terrapins and earned honors including First Team All-ACC, First Team All-ECAC, and Preseason All-American, later being selected by the Miami Dolphins in the NFL Draft.

With over 15 years of leadership in education, he currently serves in Howard County Public School System, where he works to support student success, advocate for equity, and help build healthy school cultures that prioritize belonging. His work extends beyond the classroom as he collaborates with educators, school leaders, families, community organizations, and corporate partners to strengthen pathways for student achievement and community engagement.

Mr. Sturdivant is also the founder of STURDI (Success Takes Ultimate Resilience, Determination, & Inspiration. Through STURDI, he partners with schools, educational stakeholders, organizations, and companies to deliver transformational speaking, leadership development, and mindset training that empowers people of all ages to strengthen resiliency and courageously pursue the best version of themselves.
