Poet Taylor is a lover of God, bacon, listening twice as much as you speak and the village. A proud product of the DC/Maryland foster care system who strongly believes that no matter the obstacle, there’s always a workable solution.

When Poet’s not on the air the blessing the village (as she affectionately calls those who listen to during her show “Midday Shenanigans” weekdays 10am-2pm on WPGC live from the Nation’s Capital, Poet spends her time bringing awareness to issues facing the community she proudly serves. From helping teens and young adults in the foster care system find forever families, to being involved in grassroots community efforts to end gun violence, police brutality as well as body shaming and self-hate. Poet serves as an Ambassador for the Dept. of Health’s “Sex Is…” campaign aimed at creating safe spaces for youth to discuss and learn about sexual health with self-appointed trusted adults. She also sits on the Board of Directors of Safe Shores DC – The Child Advocacy Center that helping children and families affected by trauma and violence. Poet learned early on that it takes hard work, dedication and blind faith to not only accomplish your dreams but to live them.
