Dr. Beth Lee Crawford has been licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of MD since November 2004 and in Washington, DC. since September 2007. Dr. Crawford earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Virginia Union University in 1993 and her Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology – Counseling from University of Baltimore in 1997. Dr. Crawford earned her Doctor of Psychology degree in 2001 from The George Washington University (GWU) with a double major in Diagnostic Assessment and Adult Psychotherapy.
Dr. Crawford has over 30 years of mental health experience. She has served in executive management as a Program Director and Clinical Director at Maryland Family Resource, Inc., a behavioral healthcare organization that serves children, adolescents, and adults for 16 years. As well, Dr. Crawford was an Associate Clinical Psychologist with Campbell Psychological Services, LLC. for 10 years. Dr. Crawford has also served on the Juvenile Aid & Volunteer Auxiliary (JAVA), an advisory board for several programs operated by the North American Family Institutes (NAFI) for over 6 years. From 2018 to present, Dr. Crawford has served as the Chief Executive Officer of MFR, Inc. Under her leadership, the agency has significantly expanded its service menu and programming to meet the complex needs of children, adolescents, and adults in Prince George’s County and Washington, DC. Dr. Crawford is also a current member of Prince George’s County Cabinet for Children and Youth and the UM Capital Medical Center Community Advisory Council.
Dr. Crawford has a passion for providing high quality mental health services to underserved communities and a special interest in treating trauma issues in adolescent girls and adult women. Dr. Crawford has had specialized training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Systems Therapy, Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model, and Critical Incident Stress Management, and the treatment of attachment disorders.
